What’s the Problem with the Zimmer Durom Cup?

The Zimmer hip, specifically the Zimmer Durom Cup has been shown to have a way above average failure rate.

As you might imagine, with hip replacement surgery being rather major surgery and needing a long recuperation period, complete with extensive physical therapy, you don’t want to do this again anytime soon.

In fact, you would have every right to expect that the implant would last as long as you, i.e., at least several decades.
